Having a material risk placed on an uncertain outcome. The risk can be financial but is more powerful if it’s something deeper. If things don’t work out some part of you is worse off (financially, ego, reputation, emotionally etc). That is the incentive to work towards the positive outcome

I really don’t understand those who try to argue memecoins are not in the spirit of crypto and should be stopped. Censorship resistance is a core tenet of crypto. You cant decide the things you don’t like or agree with should be stopped while still declaring yourself pro censorship resistance
