Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency in the crypto market, has fallen below $1,600, trading at $1,584 at the time of writing.
This comes as cryptocurrencies have experienced a decline, with $200 million being wiped out of the market in just 60 minutes.
The market capitalization of cryptocurrencies reached $2.52 trillion on Sunday, amid a significant decline from its market capitalization of approximately $2.69 trillion on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
Bitcoin fell below $80,000 as major cryptocurrencies declined, affected by the collapse in global markets, which have lost $10 trillion. This followed US President Donald Trump's announcement of a 10% tariff on all countries, with higher tariffs on some, amid fears of a recession.
