GM Fam, The story behind this situation (Thread) 1️⃣ -🚨 In January 8th of 2023 the Brazilian Far-Right and supporters of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro tried to overthrow the government of newly elected Center-Left president Lula. - They invaded major buildings of Brasília (Brazil’s capital) in an attempt to call the military to impose a coup d'état. It was a really stupid attempt, mainly because it was during the weekend? No one was working. - Because of this coup attempt they damaged the main government buildings of Brazil (Supreme Court, Congress, Presidential Palace, etc) and were all arrested by the Brazilian Federal Police. -⚠️ Alexandre de Moraes AKA Xandão. He is a Brazilian Supreme Court Judge and also was the president of the Superior Electoral Court in Brazil until June of this year. He was the one who ordered to arrest all the insurgents, and ordered Elon to surrender the names and IP addresses of every Brazilian X account who used X to organize this coup attempt. 👇

2️⃣ - 🤯 By Brazilian laws Elon would have to comply and give this information to Xandão or he would be obstructing justice. - 💣 ELON accused The Brazilian Supreme Court of trying to suppress free speech and said he would not give the information - 🧨 Alexandre said, we’ll fine you, but Elon did not comply, than Alexandre said either you comply or we’ll arrest your legal representative in Brazil and summon you to appear in court - 🏢 Elon closed Brazilian X offices and said he was being persecuted by Alexandre because he’s “anti democracy” and “anti free speech” - 🫰Brazilian Central Time Alexandre served Elon and X’s legal team a subpoena in which he states that X has 24 hours to pay their fines and appoint their legal representative in Brazilian soil or they’re gonna block X in all Brazilian territory. - 🔴Note: this happened before with other corporations. Brazilian law states that for a company to operate on Brazilian soil it must have a legal representative in Brazil.

3️⃣- Elon has responded with those 2 posts on X. - Elon won’t comply and Xandão is not known for empty threats. - Hours ago Xandão blocked Starlink accounts in Brazil. - Starlink has sent a letter to clients claiming the freezing of accounts is illegal and unconstitutional and that they will fight it in court. - 🔺Brazil ranks 6th in the number of users with 21.5 million users. That’s a lot of ad revenue, they are now using BLUESKY. Interesting to know where this is going
