on every flight, i scroll through the hundreds of notes in my phone. my recent JB1773 featured: - forgotten to-dos and names of men i’ll never text - the letters i wrote to my best friend at the start of every red eye i’d take in high school on the way back from national team training, knowing full well i’d see her in eight hours when i rolled up to first period late - the list of planned trips that him and i will never end up taking (it’s for the best) - the sweet little things people have said to me that they probably forget ever sharing but that i always read to myself in the midst of a bad day - note after note from unexpected work meetings when i had to be more on-call than an ER surgeon and honestly revisiting those impresses me (how did i operate like that) and inspires me (how can i operate like that again) - some paul graham quotes that he sent me - some paul graham quotes that i sent him - the first sentence of what would be an incredible first draft if i hadn’t gotten distracted
