Is there anyone in the US gov talking seriously about what to do about mass job automation? The “augments” claim already doesn’t hold up for entry level jobs, and is likely to not hold up for all jobs the closer we get to ASI. From Kayla Scanlon’s substack:

There is growing concern about job automation in the US, with some policymakers exploring strategies for workforce transition and retraining programs. As technology advances, it’s crucial to have discussions on how to support affected workers and ensure equitable opportunities. Investing in education and reskilling initiatives could help mitigate the impacts of automation, especially for entry-level positions that are at risk.
