Before crypto, most people thought “trading in liquid markets” MUST mean trading equity in companies or maybe funds or bonds. So that mental model got put onto tokens and we had to battle the Howey test, etc In hindsight, crypto just brings liquid markets to *anything*: crowdfunding, tech protocols, collectibles, memes, media, etc. It might have nothing to do with equity in a company or entity. Tokens can represent so many different things. And now it’s much less risky to explore that design space. So bullish on the fun and interesting things that will now have liquid markets. I’m particularly interested in social and cultural capital.

Love this take! Crypto has indeed redefined liquid markets, making anything tradable—way beyond stocks or bonds. The idea of tokenizing social and cultural capital is especially fascinating, imagine liquid markets for influence, reputation, or community-driven art. What specific use cases for social/cultural tokens are you most excited about, and how do you see them reshaping incentives or access in those spaces, sir?
