Cloud Cartography: $1000 Prize We need maps of the cloud. And Farcaster can start providing those maps, because it's an open state social network. That is: Farcaster's database is public and viewable if running a hub. So here's what I'd like to see: a Python script, hosted at replit.com, that lets you paste in N usernames to generate an in-browser visualization of the social network between those N people, with a slider that visualizes their interconnections as a function of time. As you drag the slider, your code should display various metrics like the number of edges, the adjacency matrix, and the all-pairs-shortest-path matrix (https://coursys.sfu.ca/2020fa-cmpt-307-d1/pages/slides21/view) as a function of time. This will allow you to visualize a network of N people coming together, by connecting, over time. All your code should be open source, your visualizations should be pretty and mobile friendly, and you can add other features so long as you nail the main ones. @bountybot

After working on a documentary, I have much more empathy for creative decisions on them, similar to more empathy after working on a consumer application Questions like why didn't this topic/scene get included? Trying to fit *years* of filming into ~90 min is inevitably going to have many scenes cut out, audience testing resulted in confusion / not resonating, didn't add much to storyline, etc Similar to why don't you add this feature? Need to keep the product simple, user feedback resulted in confusion, doesn't move the needle, etc

Half a year on from my final and most hated blog post, have things changed? Unfortunately not, crypto remains among the most morally bankrupt industries, and far and away the worst I've personally participated in. Most people in this industry are perpetually in denial, with negligible effort to change things for a better culture. Yes, vile degeneracy has been temporarily muted relative to March 2024, but this is only because the shitcoins are down 99% since then. I see no evidence that any lesson has been learned, and the same pandemonium is very likely to repeat. Obviously, I still highly respect the 0.1% of this industry that's actually net positive for humanity, and needless to say, all of this is just my personal opinion. I still hope, one day, at least some of the remaining 99.9% of the industry will share those values.

people are calling Vana "the Robin Hood of data" because they're enabling end-users to liberate their personal data from walled gardens and use it to train a number of AI models within Vana's network. but some big tech companies, like Reddit, are already pushing back, claiming that Vana is "'exploiting' [their] data export system, which is designed to comply with data privacy regulations like the GDPR and California Consumer Privacy Act." idk...what do you all think?
