I guess automod is going away.  And without that they become a cesspool apparently. I don’t know. Haven’t really looked into it too much. I know that’s the thing to do though.

But the new channel update allows you to set different mods, so you won’t have to go through much stress (not like the auto mod) but better than nothing 
You have a lot of community members not to have a channel
