OGs are largely not being welcoming enough. You should take the time to respond to the first casts of some fresh accounts that just followed you. You are not too important to do that.

Sometimes it's tough to determine what is spam and what isn't. However, I do agree, we (myself included) need to be better about this. I should take a couple mins each day and randomly spot check new followers and interact with the obviously unspammy accounts. Accounts with .eth usernames get first looks, fwiw.
