TLDR: clams in nature act as bioindicators for filtering water, and will close their shells when detecting water pollutants like heavy metals or pesticides. In this scenario, Sensors are installed on their shells to trigger signals to an automated monitoring system to ensure real-time safety alerts. This system is integrated into Warsaw’s municipal computer network, and if/when 4 out of 8 clams close at the same time, the city water pipelines automatically shut off to prevent human contamination
