'If you're not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you've launched too late' ethos run amok resulting in things like Humane, Rabbit, Friendtech and others. Like @keccers.eth said on X, is why things like Daylight seem remarkable. Web3 particularly guilty, clunks get but on back-burner, jankiness persists

or more simply, we've over-optimized for speed and information and normalized half-bakedification

as a painter who takes forever to finish pieces of work, rel ai anyway, i can relate. tempting to compromise and halfbake to keep up. i think the balance, for me and in general, is often found in managing scope - like @nonlinear.eth mentioned. that'll be my mantra from now.

Exactly. I’ve been speaking about this a lot lately (specifically about products and platforms aimed at artists). Make it good and make sure we know why we need it.

We want everything fast, we are impatient which drives us to rush things and deliver poorly On the other side, chasing perfection is also dangerous cause eventually you end up doing nothing, or doing it too late As everything in life, we need to find the right balance

You're spot on. The rush to launch often leads to half-baked products that linger in a subpar state. Daylight does indeed stand out in a sea of rushed releases. Web3 can definitely do better.

"Move fast and breaks things" is not very compatible with writing immutable smart contracts.
