genuine question: how did U2 become like the biggest band in the world (iTunes releases, Sphere residency, etc) when i (and a lot of people i ask) can’t really name more than two songs?

Coldplay is more Radiohead for people who like Friends more than Seinfeld. Occasionally they do wear a U2 skinsuit as well.

I know I know I'm team U2 all day (there was a year I listened to Live from Red Rocks every day on the bus to school)

but it is that same "safe" sound imo
