Chain Abstraction is currently the new buzz in the crypto world so decided to learn more about it. Writing this mini thread for anyone else like me who's getting into this topic.

So what exactly is chain abstraction? One can think of it as a single interface for the blockchains unlike current scenario which includes the users having to navigate different chains, bridges, side chains, gas fees. Tons of complexity in order to carry out transactions.

For those aware of account abstraction, chain abstraction is similar but for chains not just for protocols. Great example to understand chain abstraction I read in NEAR's blog that highlights the current multi chain and complex systems in web3 is of email systems.

Now i'm not a very tech person so don't have a lot of knowledge on the email infrastucture. But imagine if one couldn't send emails to someone with an outlook address from their gmail. Isn't that a bit weird to think about?

We're so used to is we don't think that's possible for a second right? But this is the case right now when it comes to blockchain addresses. A person with a polygon address can't directly send a crypto from their address to someone with an ethereum address without a bridge.

This removal of friction of bridges or at least making it go on the backend for the users is what chain abstraction wants to achieve. Not just bridges, think gas fees, changing of chains, multiple wallets. DYOR as well and if you'd like to point out any mistakes ,feel free to!
