I’ve been trying to pinpoint what this new Bon Iver track reminds me of, and I finally figured it out. 🧵

Bon Iver’s track has these cold, almost mechanical electronic beats. But when you layer in the warmth of the vocals, they create a balance—just like Gaye’s song does in its own way.

It gives me the same feeling as Marvin Gaye’s Sexual Healing.

I know that sounds like a stretch, but hear me out. Both songs contrast two opposing elements that somehow fit perfectly together.
