Best thing that ever happened to me.

Big positive for me is how much it forces you to absolutely economize your time and energy. Working on anything you feel less than 100% sure about becomes nonstarter— the gnawing feeling knowing that should be time spent with my kid is a constant gut check

I feel this. Gives you extra focus for higher productivity in less time. Forces efficiency to levels I didn’t previously have before kids when time was abundant.
