The moment that completely changed my view on Web3 was undoubtedly the creation of smart contracts. Before them, blockchain was essentially a decentralized ledger for financial transactions, like Bitcoin. However, with the arrival of Ethereum and the ability to program autonomous logic directly onto the blockchain, I realized we were facing a paradigm shift.

Smart contracts transformed Web3 from a simple 'internet of money' into a programmable infrastructure where agreements, business dealings, and even governance could be executed without intermediaries. This eliminated the need for trust in third parties and opened doors to DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, and other disruptive innovations.
