Everything is gettinf dumped down in the spirit of "easier UX for the masses". From OS UI to apps and games. For the latter, I just stopped playing :) But the direct consequences of "making stuff easier to use" is exactly what you describe in OP.. personnally conserned as well how this translates to younger generations becoming consumers instead of users with a certain degree of autonomy

I think some of the AA issues you mention are easily fixable by UX improvements. EURe vendor lock though... another story 💀

All of the points you raised are true, which actually makes for a more interesting space for actual social activity! Only thing I'm worried is that warpcast team was training their algos based on skewd stats from the degen hype era, probably resulting in less optimization towards driving actual engagement. Hope they take this into consideration and re-calibrate!

That's a fine narrative, but cynical me reads it as big words devoid of substance. What I'd like to see being discussed is how exactly is mainstream culture brought on chain in general, and more specifically how is Base doing that better than others? 🤔

@dwr.eth you were asking to tag you under bot infested posts the other day.. they're having a party here Also, the pack is a bit overrated/overpriced imo. Europeans have mob coverage anyways, probably booked accomodation before pack was available, and at least 1/3 of events are free to attend anyways, not sure why they are on the list 🙄

Autofollows turned me off initially as well. Then I just spent some time to manually curate my list. That paired with base/degen circlejerking toning down made me quite happy with my experience here rn :)

I used to have the same opinion. Still not far away from the truth, but it feels way less circle-jerky after the degen/base hype decline. My 2c: look for channels that deal with topics you're interested in, and try to actively cast/reply for a month. Will probably change your perspective
