A WEEK SOBER FROM BEING FOOLED
I clicked the link, it seemed so fair,
A deal too good, beyond compare.
A shiny prize, a tempting lure,
I should have known—it wasn’t pure.
The page was sleek, the words were kind,
They preyed upon my hurried mind.
“Act fast, don’t wait, the stock is thin,”
I felt the rush and dove right in.
The card was charged, my hopes were high,
But soon, the truth began to pry.
No tracking code, no mail, no sound,
My treasure lost, my trust unbound.
I cursed myself, my foolish haste,
The bitter taste of trust misplaced.
But lesson learned, I’ll tread with care,
For deals too sweet are traps laid bare.
So now I pause, I stop, I think,
Before I fall for baited links.
The cost was steep, the sting is true,
But scams won’t fool me—now, will you?
