another expo-video and expo-av challenge I ran into is animating the seek bar right now it requires using the JS thread to get an updated value for the current time and then updating the status bar to animate it'd be incredible if expo-video native modules could write the status directly to a SharedValue from react-native-reanimated on the UI thread so the animation could be butter smooth

I recently tried to integrate the new expo-video package into Warpcast (currently using expo-av) but ran into an issue that blocked my progress: rendering a single player instance into multiple VideoViews working in iOS but not Android this is useful for building a press to expand full screen player with custom controls since using the same instance means the in feed player and full screen player stay in sync and don't use 2x the resources https://github.com/expo/expo/issues/31248

what leads you to believe that end to end encrypted communication is a net good for the world? esp in liberal democratic countries where the governments are at least in theory accountable to the people are the costs of letting malevolent actors coordinate worth the benefits? what exactly are those benefits that justify something like kiddie porn being easy to distribute at scale? or are the alleged liberal democracies currently in power more of a fiction than reality? or is it more that someday a less liberal less democratic regime will come into power? steel man positions only

RFK's position on anti-imperialism and focus on chronic disease make him a compelling candidate to me I know a lot of people think his ideas are wack but not even sure this matters, the issues a president focuses on and their directional stances are what matters, technocrats can and will ultimately decide what to do
