2yo made a big jump in language understanding this last week, culminating in his first time requesting a bedtime story. I've been telling him stories and singing to him since birth, but he was so much more "into it" today.

Just realized how personal and fundamental of a belief this is for me. It's why I resonate with our current Nursery School, with Montessori, with the toys I choose, with how I talk with my son, with how I teach classes, and so on, and so on. Also why I was so angry at the system as a teenager who desperately wanted to do more.

Just finished day 590 of running a mile or more every day. Didn't have time for a run during the day so and was on 4 hours of sleep, so I set an alarm for 11PM and went down together with my 2yo at 10pm (he has a tough time falling asleep). Woke up and did the mile, but it sucked. But done!
