After using o1 for a few days, I switched back to using 4o. The experience with o1 reminded me of the book "The Doors of Perception." The human brain has the disadvantage of low computational power, but its strength lies in high error tolerance. Therefore, a communication system that better aligns with us would provide an imperfect response I can process in 10 seconds, rather than a perfect one that takes me 3 minutes to comprehend. Perhaps this is why the doors of perception are closed. Could this also reflect a tragedy of dimensional differences? Even if higher intelligences exist, we may lack the computational capacity to understand them.

This is a piece about the history of the Twitter Chinese-speaking community. It inspired me to think about the following questions: 1. Is Twitter an outdated product? 2. Is Twitter more of a news platform rather than a social platform? If the answer is yes, the following questions arise: 1. Is Warpcast, which currently follows a Twitter-like model (the main direction of Farcaster), building on a flawed foundation? 2. Is it possible to transform Twitter-like products with the help of new technologies, including AI and decentralization? Our echo chamber: 1. Web3 users prefer to use Twitter, leading to the misconception that the general public still uses Twitter. 2. We assume Warpcast’s lack of interesting content is due to the platform itself, but in reality, interesting content isn’t on Twitter either. https://x.com/foxshuo/status/1834883015274905900

If decentralized social is to succeed, the breakthrough won’t come from outstanding social features but from the emergence of various applications built on top of the social network. These applications will introduce new experiences and features, and it’s these innovations that will attract people to decentralized social platforms. Therefore, the most important and fundamental aspect of decentralized social protocols might be maintaining openness. However, openness is easier said than done-even the smallest intentions can become obstacles.

So 1. @dwr.eth, @horsefacts.eth, I need your help. Thank you. 2. I hope all applications in the Farcaster ecosystem, including Warpcast, will support direct wallet login.

A misery with my farcaster account 1.I needed a new Farcaster account for work. I registered the account directly using a wallet, without registering on Warpcast 2.I soon realized that most apps in the Farcaster ecosystem only support Warpcast user login, not direct wallet login. To resolve this, I needed to make the account capable of logging into Warpcast 3. My approach: I registered a new account on Warpcast, then sold the FID of that new account on @farquest, and used that new account to buy the FID of the work account. This way, the new Warpcast account now holds the FID of the work account, allowing me to use the username associated with that FID 4.However, when I tried to log in to Warpcast with this new account, the system failed to recognize the FID. I encountered an error page and couldn’t return to the Warpcast login page. I uninstalled and reinstalled Warpcast, but I still got the error page 5. Now I can’t log in to my personal account on my phone, leaving me unable to use many apps. @dwr.eth

Tower of Babylon Book · 2016 · ★★★★★ There are a lot of Tower of Babel stories out there, but Ted Chiang's is my favorite. If it could be made into a movie, it would be epic!

From a product design perspective, some products need to aim for seamlessness, while others should strive to create a tangible experience. I don’t like using Smart Wallet because they are too seamless. It’s a wallet, and I want to feel like I’m in control of it. @coinbasewallet

Invisible Cities Book · 1978 · ★★★★★ Every sentence in this book is thought-provoking. For instance: "Therefore, the inhabitants still believe they live in an Aglaura which grows only with the name Aglaura and they do not notice the Aglaura that grows on the ground. "

Late Night Thoughts on Listening to Mahler's Ninth Symphony Book · 1 · ★★★★½ Lewis Thomas is my favorite science writer. His scientific essays are as captivating as the most moving prose. He is truly “the rare individual who bridges the worlds of science and the humanities, whose voice and vision can tell us about science’s aesthetic and philosophical dimensions, providing not merely new information but cause for reflection, even revelation.”
