Niche reference but I find it hilarious that Vitalik started Ethereum because his warlock got nerfed in WoW

Warlocks had a level 60 spell that would let you summon a really powerful demon that would be hostile to you. And then you’d have to use a separate spell to control it

Kind of like AGI and blockchains today

Erik Voorhees’ privacy-focused AI app venice dot ai just dropped a new token called $VVV on @base and it went straight to 500MM FDV in five minutes (80M MC after lockups.) 🤯 

I have been using Venice recently and it’s very good, and can be used for free in a browser with no memory. Yesterday, they made a private version of deepseek available to their Pro users. 

The token will be used in lieu of an access key for their API and can be staked for a 2700% APY currently. There is also an airdrop for holders of certain tokens like $DEGEN and $VIRTUALS, I got about $1500 worth across my wallets so definitely check  it out at venic dot ai slash token. 

Feels like a big deal for @base!

it's kind of wild how quickly narratives shift in this space. just a month ago, everyone was bull posting Base and the Virtuals eco and Clankers were unstoppable.

now Solana is all the rage again: 
- TRUMP sucked all liquidity back to the chain and coins like VINE & MOBY have top mindshare
- Virtuals is expanding there
- Jup bought Moonshot
- SOL ETF apps

even Base builders are migrating / going cross-chain and the hottest SocialFi apps are born there: DEGEN, Yapster, Vector ... the list goes on.

by next week, Abstract will be sucking all the air out of the room. my folder of AL for projects has moved to the top of my discords and i can't keep up with the pings. 

metas shift at light speed in this space. 

i still love Base, but am positioning my bags and my focus accordingly. 

way too easy to get left behind in a bull market if you aren't skating to where the puck is going.

To be fair, crypto market structures and participants have largely tended towards gambling and chasing narratives, so it makes sense why those memes persist - but kwonzis never endure - only economic sustainability will. It's a slow process, but this market *will* mature!

So, in a crypto context, what does economic sustainability look like? 

Demand drivers:
- Users paying to use the protocol
- Users buying the asset as economic collateral, medium-of-exchange, or just as a cult
- Users buying the asset to earn dividends (incl. fee burns), yields
