sit rep - Got to our destination last evening. Car trunk got fully stuck. Tried a lot of things but no luck. At least, it only got worse. - Simultaneously, got locked out of our Airbnb and had to break in through a window - finally got the trunk opened this morning after spending an hour+ at the auto shop taking apart the rear end of the car Had fun throughout tho

have always been a big believer in this and why I stayed as an IC for the longest time no one should manage craftsmen if they are not good at the craft themselves - - - - > “I was trying to find what was predictive of leadership success,” he explains. “A lot of things are important, but they’re not predictive. For example, being customer obsessed is important, but there are people who were customer obsessed who were on both sides of the list.” The only trait that Pedro found to be predictive of leadership success at Brex was what he calls “the ability to operate at all levels” — someone who even at the highest levels of leadership has a deep understanding of the details of execution at the individual contributor level. What this means in practice is a CTO who is actually a great engineer. A Head of Design who can actually design amazing products. And a great Head of Sales who can actually go and close deals themselves if they need to. “It doesn’t mean that they’re going to do that all the time,” Pedro explains, “But it means that they know the nuances of what makes someone great at the craft
If you don’t know how to identify greatness because you don’t know what the bar is yourself, there’s no way to build a team that’s great.” He continues: “A lot of companies develop this role over time that people call a ‘people manager.’ They’re Director of Engineering but they can’t really code because they manage people now
And that concept is just something we eliminated. At the end of the day, there’s no way to manage people divorced from the work — you’re managing the work itself.” https://x.com/StartupArchive_/status/1940015131443765307

another quality of life upgrade - at the beginning of 2025, we built the ability to create Farcaster agents in a few clicks inside Neynar dev portal (no account switching or fees) now you can transfer those agents out to a custody address of your choice, simple transfer flow included in the portal will allow you to login into other apps with the agent account

here's another real world peek at Farcaster's grok equivalent: if you have access to our agent, you can answer these questions - it could speak about the $fair launch yesterday as the discussions were happening if you don't have access yet, it's because sometimes it still hallucinates and we are working on that before broader rollout soon https://farcaster.xyz/pichi/0xb2f2144c

built a new product funnel today (not out yet, testing internally rn) - recently have only had time for bug fixes and documentation updates so it felt good to build something new, honestly could do this all of fri night but want to preserve my sleep cycle - AI tools are amazing, I know LLMs are the norm now but every once in a while I'm still blown away by how far we've come in the last two years - for anyone who wants to build something digital, it's no longer a matter of skill but a matter of agency ok gn! ps - internal tests are promising thus far 👀

quality of life upgrade - if using @neynar webhooks, you can now filter incoming webhooks using neynar scores - less noisy on your backend, only get events from higher quality accounts - cheaper infra costs, only pay CU for the events you receive - you decide the thresholds that fit your product doc on how to think about scores: https://docs.neynar.com/docs/neynar-user-quality-score#what-is-the-neynar-user-score s/o @shreyas-chorge for the work, reach out with any questions đŸȘ

Agree with this Text media is comparatively less addicting. Is more analogous to documentary media format - takes work to consume. This said, there’s ways to consume drugs that do not end in addiction and can be fun and sometimes even helpful. Smart consumers will figure out the same for media. https://x.com/karpathy/status/1936931329872126426

+1 to notifications being a big growth driver for mini apps Projects like @qrcoindotfun have been using it to great benefit. As @jake puts it - "It would be reasonable to assume that the majority of these people would not have picked this up as a daily ritual if not for our ability to send daily notification". Wrote more about this here: https://neynar.com/blog/qr-new-model-for-driving-digital-attention đŸ§”
