I’m transported to a street in the Roman Empire 169 AD. Not Rome. I only have my current knowledge. I don’t speak Latin but I’ll learn over time. My goal is to give Humanity a jump forward. What is my strategy? What could I say to convince people I’m from the future and get an audience with the emperor. Reading Chip War and it’s fascinating. Still at the beginning but it’s confirmed one thing for me. The world is really small at the bleeding edge of a new industry. This pattern is consistent across history. If Farcaster is that place for crypto the ambition needs to increase. The ingredients are here but time will tell. So far I’m more bullish on Farcaster’s potential than before but also more aware of the delta between potential and reality. The feeling that we’re on the verge of something truly special is still there. Balaji’s network schools is another ingredient that if it was super charged with Farcaster. I mean the ingredients are all here. But the fuse still hasn’t been lit. But the ingredients are here. I can’t think of anywhere else on the World Wide Web I’d rather be.

The using twitter to jump start the content problem on Farcaster is an interesting solution but atm it feels inauthentic. Something about it feels off. It should my shown as what it is. As a billboard for potential discussion and not as a cast by a person. It doesn’t feel genuine, interacting with it feels off. It feels kind of spammy. Like you’re not here. It should be the tweets that generate the most discussion and not everyone. Also is the person doing the cross posting or is Warpcast trial running auto pulling the feed. Because if auto all the more reason it shown by shown differently on the timeline. Right now it feels like there’s a disconnect. That’s my take anyway.

I think I figured out the VIX spike to 65. WARNING: Please put your tin foil hats on firmly, as you are now entering conspiracy theory territory. Thank you, enjoy your stay. So good ole Larry wants SEC to investigate the spike as a head fake. Alluding to potential fraud. Aka everything is fine. Buffet is hoarding cash for no reason. That slut wants exit liquidity so please keep DCA. What I think the 65 spike was everyone positioning for the carry trade unwind. Probably with bullet swaps and other instruments that have opaque reporting. But the moves somehow triggered VIX due to the size of the moves. Some people are safe some aren't. We'll see when the bodies start floating to the surface. The unwind starts when the rate cuts are announced. As the dollar will depreciate and unless the Yen similarly depreciates, people will get merked. Mind you the BOJ could devalue the Yen but everyday people are suffering enough as is but who cares about their suffering when it comes to markets. Otherwise rate cuts = gg
