I think the dark forest theory gets it wrong. The internet isn't retreating into private groups—it's building cities. Everyone can see them, anyone can join, but you have to fully live in one to understand what's being built there and appreciate the knowledge and culture.

Your job isn't to serve a market, it's to shape the market. The people you serve should be united by the narrative you put forward and benefited by your product. Without the former, the market you're serving today will inevitably disapper.

it appears the inner circle is finally getting pissed off?

two notable developments:

1) “get louder for us” — people are scared to speak up due to fear of retribution from ex-cb mafia (this is horrifying, no different than censorship & why we get called linkedin)

2) just talked to a second crypto & fc og who is now advising an fc competitor interested in tokenizing the social graph: one just wants to start a fire; the other is giving “fine i’ll do it myself” energy

while i appreciate dans recent visibility on the timeline, we’ve debated this time & time again to no end & nothing has changed 

out of love for the network, the people want SOME of the 100m+ of capital being SAT ON deployed & deployed LOUDLY 

starting with ONE non dev hire to run ONE of these initiatives (to start):

> branding & optics
> grants & devrel
> meaningful creator rewards & ambassador program
