Do you find math notation to be 1 alienating, foreign and unnecessary 2 can make sense of it if needed 3 quickly understandable and unambiguous 4 a beautiful and preferable way to consume math ideas

2, but with a caveat: it takes considerable mental effort for me to make sense of it. So if the notation is part of a larger article and I'm mostly interested in the ideas (which is usually the case), I skip over it and concentrate on the words.

It's much the same with code. I finished a web dev bootcamp a long time ago, so I could make sense of some of it if necessary, but I rarely have the need to do so. Words are my preferred medium by far.

BTW, I read your critique of the hyperstructures piece, and I took some notes. Then I started digging into your other writings (though I admit I did skim some of the math). :) Still reading and pondering. I'll return to that hyperstructures convo eventually!

Would love to see your notes and curious your thoughts all around of course Recently I’ve been thinking about how I might propose an amended definition of hyperstructures that retains the original meaning while being more accurate

Had a really great conversation with Carl at hypercerts about this and he like Owocki felt that the long lasting nature of the structures was something special and worth the distinction. I agree

Would love to read your ideas for an amended definition. I think Jacob is onto something important, even if the threat-of-the-fee dynamic doesn’t work as he proposes. I also think your critique is onto something. Working on organizing my thoughts in @paragraph. Not familiar with hypercerts. Sounds interesting.
