But can it make phone calls and do other phone stuff well? What’s the point of the laser pointer? The price and ethOS are the only things that have peaked my interest so far (but I haven’t watched the video yet)

The video seems to point toward it as a mobile device for messaging mostly. If I didn’t just have to drop a bunch of crypto on a laptop I’d probably try it out just to give feedback on the new product and hope the airdrops cover the cost in the end. 
I guess the bottom line for me is, I don’t really want another device to have to manage my wallets and I don’t get the point of running a lite node atm. Looking into that part now…

the video helps most, imo. i don't know what the laser is for either. i'm not even sure the dGEN1 is a /cellular/ device.

Previous ethOS devices were phones (Pixels, actually), so it tracks. I'm just not certain.
