The goal of Show Up is to reduce no shows by requesting a deposit fee. I suggest a small $5-10 fee. Or if you want to keep it completely free, at minimum people would need to pay a gas fee. This ensures skin in the game and is actually intentional. Deposits are returned when attending the event

So Show Up might not be the right option for you, as I understand you want to keep it open/free and accessible.

I'm thinking about using reputation based mechanisms to RSVP (instead of financial), but this is still just in idea phase 😅
