One unexpected benefit of ChatGPT is it gives you a certain level to gauge person's responses. Some people are indistinguishable from an LLM.

Right! Discussion about what AGI is and p(doom) are more about what makes people intelligent and how societies work than about how LLMs “reason” (although we know relatively little about both sides 🙂).
