UNBLOCK CRYPTO | EIP6963

on desktop, when i connect wallet - half the time it defaults to another wallet (e.g. metamask) that i dont want to use. say I want to use my rabby wallet, it takes several tries and a lot of luck for that to pop up. 

i sometimes have to "disable the extension" to finally force quit that extension pop up.

EIP-6963 solves this! We need more dapps to adopt it. /unblock-crypto

OKX wallet has supported EIP-6963 for almost 6 months now!

PSA for dapp devs working with wallet connections:

Don't make browser extension wallets fight for the `window.ethereum` object every time the page loads.

Give them a forum to introduce themselves – send the `eip6963:requestProvider` event, then listen for `eip6963:announceProvider` detail objects.

My main contribution as an author was namespacing the custom JavaScript event names with an `eip6963:` prefix.

The choice should be yours. You decide which dapp to use and which wallet to log in with. Your experience should be smooth, gateless, and entirely under your control. But why, oh why... are there always these 'recommended' wallets hovering when we log in? Have you ever noticed that when you opt for anything outside these 'recommended' choices, things tend to go wrong? Frustrated, you switch to the 'recommended' option, and suddenly, the choice isn't entirely 'yours' anymore.

Web3 connectivity is broken, but unblockcrypto.com is a community experimental initiative working to help fix it.
