The one thing I consistently seek to capture in my photography is the multitude of expressions of Divine origin in people and nature. I used to find it much easier to connect to this essence in the natural world—oceans, trees, mountains. I like to help introduce or reintegrate indigenous and ancestral wisdom into our modern, often disconnected, culture and communities. I believe that building links between seemingly different things fosters long-term unity and open-mindedness. While not everything will appeal to everyone, having all choices available and raising awareness and acceptance for all beliefs and perspectives is essential for a better future. Lah Hallah Maria, a Sangoma—an initiated Zulu healer—performs a cacao ceremony in Cape Town, South Africa.
