For the past 17 months, I’ve been on a wild healing journey from the trauma of working in emergent tech. Sounds crazy, but an empath like me probably has no business working in this industry—but I love it. And my /yoga training at Naropa prepared me for this very thing— processing trauma as it hits the nervous system & giving it space to travel thru your body— and out. A recent local community incident is testing what I learned and how well I assimilated that earned wisdom. Hooo boy— its intense. But there’s so much to learn. Tonight I’m diving into “somatic purge” and the impacts of toxic masculinity when your voice and words are directly targeted by a malicious actor in an open communal setting. Ive always struggled with using my voice, my throat chakra. My work at Naropa helped me overcome that struggle, and I immediately dove into situations where I had to speak out in patriarchal settings. And was repeatedly persecuted. But boy did I learn. And boy am I grateful.
