people like to point at Fortnite as the narrative violation that killed player-vs-environment in lieu of player-vs-player (which is really squad-vs-squad). whether it's Eve Online, Runescape, World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls Online, one can find a player economy with millions of $ of annual volume. altogether, these total to hundreds of millions $. simple PvP/FFA is easy, but if I'm being brutally honest, it's boring af. there's really no persistent lore to speak of, and there's not really any craftmanship. MMPvE is not just a farming opportunity for plebians, but also a test of that global population to specialize & form more resilient, efficient bodies against hazards, even themselves. give them a marketplace for in-game utility, and the real-world value automatically accretes. I'm pretty stoked about what @nbragg is building on /stokefire, looking forward to that economy unfolding. I'm also curious if farcaster minigames compose on a Farcaster MUD & form a MMPvE economy. seems to be underrated atm.
