… Continue 4. Traditional alliances like NATO or regional blocs no longer guarantee strict mutual defence, as countries increasingly prioritise self-interest over rigid alignments. Nations such as Qatar &Turkey exemplify this fluid and complex approach to geopolitics. 5. Today’s geopolitical landscape is highly complex, with historical patterns offering limited predictive value. The growing influence of non-state actors, multinational corporations, and global networks adds further layers of complexity. 6. Countries and cities are competing to attract young, mobile talent by offering opportunities, robust infrastructure, and progressive policies. In a world facing demographic stagnation, success depends on creating environments that appeal to this global workforce. 7. Stateless corporations and networks, such as tech giants and social media platforms, are emerging as powerful players. Operating independently of traditional states, they are reshaping governance, economic dynamics, and global influence.

We welcomed Para to Network School today, where he presented compelling insights on the need for adaptive governance and a bottom-up approach to understanding global dynamics. Some key points: 1. Transition to Multipolarity: The world has shifted from unipolar or bipolar dominance to a multipolar system with distributed power across regions and nations. 2. The Global Marketplace Analogy: Countries now operate in a global “marketplace,” competing to be the most trusted service providers. Nations pragmatically source investments, infrastructure, and technology from multiple powers, depending on their needs. 3. Adoption of Multi-Alignment: Many countries reject binary alliances, such as choosing between the U.S. or China, and instead pursue multi-alignment strategies. This approach allows them to leverage aid, investments, and defence partnerships from various regions simultaneously. TBC…

Excited to have @jessepollak from @base at Network School today for an energetic talk and fireside chat with @balajis.eth Here's a summary of his points: 🌐 The onchain ecosystem is shaping up to become the next version of the internet, offering faster and more accessible applications. 🔗 Layer 1 blockchains, like Bitcoin and Ethereum, provide the foundation, while layer 2 solutions, such as Base, significantly lower transaction costs. 📱 Decentralised platforms are unlocking diverse applications across sectors, from payments to social media, enhancing user engagement and empowering creators to monetise their work. 💱 As currencies transition onchain, competition will revolve around their functionality and features, driving governments to innovate and attract users. 🤖 Integrating AI and blockchain could pave the way for autonomous agents operating independently within a global economy. Thank you @jessepollak and the team!
