Rain is one migraine trigger I can’t avoid or run from. I’m experimenting with Indomethacin for the barometric pressure headache before it transforms. I also have an app and earplugs (WeatherX) that alerts me if pressure shifts so I can use the earplugs and take the medication. It’s no silver bullet but the combo isn’t terrible. This is from the Welltory app, which unlocks data from your Apple Watch. I can feel my headache transforming into a migraine. Checked the app and my body is clearly mad. This is the first time I’ve used it as a tool to help decide if I should take a triptan or not. Wish my luck that I wake up without a migraine!

I don’t think the artist intends to represent migraines in their work, but every time I see it, it just screams MIGRAINE to me and I collect it because it visualizes how I feel. It makes me think about how others might connect with my own work and how it may speak to them on a level I can’t even imagine. The monk felt really bad for me when I was buying ever headache charm they had. No photos are allowed in the temple but I lit incense, small candles, and filled out a huge candle with everyone’s names and a gomagi stick and left it with the monks. Sending us all the best vibes that our headaches are reduced. @checkin

There are two temples known for migraines and headaches in Kyoto and I went to one of them already to ask for relief for all of us. If you answered my previous thread, posted in the channel, or shared your suffering on Farcaster, I tried to include you. I’ll go to another temple later so here is one more chance to have some vibes sent your way. Just reply with your own needs or on behalf of someone else. At this particular temple, the Eleven Faced Kannon is said to have cured Emperor Go-Shirakawa's chronic headache, therefore this "head Kannon" is the thought to help preventing headaches and receiving wisdom. I’ll take both please.

My dearest migraine and headache sufferers. There is a temple in Kyoto dedicated to headaches and migraines. I make a pilgrimage there 2x a year to beg for relief. If you’d like me to add your name to my list of those I send vibes and prayers for at this temple, just drop a reply. It can be for you or someone in your life. I’m happy to share the good vibes with anyone who needs it. Sanjusangen-do is said to have been built in prayer of recovery from the chronic headaches Emperor Go-Shirakawa suffered. The temple is also known by the nickname "Zutsu-zan Heiyu-ji" ("headache mountain temple of recovery"), and there are omamori charms sold to cure and protect against headaches as well. The grounds are filled will willow trees. You may know that willow bark is great for headaches, as it contains Salacin, the chemical from which aspirin’s main active ingredient (salicylic acid) is derived. If you need a charm, I’m sure we can arrange that as well!

came across this, thought i'd share with the chronic illness gang reminders - your illness is not your fault - you did not choose to be unwell - you do not deserve to be ill - you are not letting anyone down for being ill - you are not a failure because you are ill it’s normal - to be upset about your illness - to feel like no one understands - to feel afraid for the future - to go back-and-forth, with acceptance - to grieve your old self praying for a pain-free day to come round soon cos this is rather relentless rn

Dang Warpcast really does have a channel for everything lol. For the last month I’ve had a massive increase in migraine frequency coupled with fun new symptoms like dizziness and fortification spectrum (visual aura) often with sudden rapid onset. Had one come on so fast and intense a couple Saturday’s ago it landed me in the ER thinking I was having a heart attack or aneurism. Ended up having the world’s most expensive bag of IV fluids 😩 Waiting on a neurologist appointment in a few weeks but trucking through another migraine today. 0/10 do not recommend lol
