I’ve been talking about stablecoins for a while… and today I can finally share 🦊💥 @metamask USD ($mUSD) is live. Why this matters 👇 $mUSD is the first wallet-native stablecoin. Fully integrated into MetaMask swaps, bridges, on/off ramps, and soon payments with the MetaMask Card. This means: ⚡️ Cheapest fiat on/off ramps in MetaMask ⚡️ Native liquidity across Ethereum + Linea ⚡️ Seamless integration into dapps + DeFi ⚡️ Spendable IRL at 150M+ merchants For builders, this isn’t just another stablecoin. It’s infra that removes friction between onboarding → using → building → spending. Stablecoins have been the backbone of DeFi for years. But they were always external to the wallet. $mUSD flips that model: wallet-native, self-custodial, composable. MetaMask is not a vibe coded app. Yet, since May 9 2025, a review suggests its trashing the SSD with writes - https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/nkbihfbeogaeaoehlefnkodbefgpgknn/reviews/e6b7eea8-8af7-4b73-81cd-0624ee44303c A bug gets opened on June 25 2025: https://github.com/MetaMask/metamask-extension/issues/33879 And it is still open more than a month later. The pull request did get reviewed and closed last week, and we are looking for release 13.1.0 (not here yet). I just checked my MetaMask version - and I wonder - how many of you are on the most up-to-date version?
