here's a "behind-the-scenes" look at the writing process i started with an image and feeling i wanted to explore and kept at it until it came out right i don't have the full edit history so i'm not sure at which point I realized that there was this symmetrical 3x3 pattern and a "linear" progression of angel -> soil, innocence -> experience, "the fall", but flipped on its head, in that the so-called "fall" of fleshly enjoyment can actually be liberating, an elevation, transcendence even....

Liberté is a poem by Paul Eluard. In 1942 thousands of copies were dropped by parachute by British aircraft of the Royal Air Force above occupied France maquis. They knew that a poem could be a powerful vector of resistance. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libert%C3%A9_(poem)

The opening of Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities I like that, somehow it fits in with our times.

Life is lonely. I don’t know what I would do without literature honestly. It has helped me survive all throughout my life. I remember reading my first book at the age of 5 and feeling the magic of reading someone else’s mind. There’s no other art form that enables you to read someone else’s thoughts. Every other art form is an interpretation. I remember doing a book report on CS Lewis in 7th grade. My Shakespeare class in 10th grade and being picked to read Kate in Taming of The Shrew. And finding Anglo-Saxon literature in 11th grade, then graduating early and studying Greek. What a gift literature is. My best friend. I don’t want to ever live without it.
