it's over for portugal? https://www.reddit.com/r/PortugalExpats/comments/1lijt34/rug_pull_confirmed_10_years_for_citizenship/ biggest leverage the country had was in their powerful passport that everyone was moving in for, paying high taxes and dealing with ungodly amount of bureaucracy for years on top of that people were waiting years only to get their first residency permit that the government required by law to issue within 6 months and they count the time from the moment you receive the permit I was just waiting 8 months after expiry only to renew the residency and it's still pending likely bringing that renewal time to 1 year this is the most cruel thing you can imagine doing to people and they did it so easily and so fast compared to years when it comes to doing what they required by their own laws I was only 2 years away from residency and will see how this evolves in the next year if it stands I'm 100% moving out as I don't want to stay locked in the waiting zone for 7 more years and +3 years after submitting docs for passport to get it which will make the most of my young adult life immigrating into the country that is slowly dying anyways and that will speed up now with people, companies and capital moving out what are your thoughts on this?
