In 2012 I traveled from the USA to western Finland for a 30-day tour, provided as a scholarship from Rotary International. Four other Americans and I spent the month touring towns, schools, and businesses throughout the heavily forested country.
This place, Sella Interior Design center, was a public-private partnership between area vocational schools and high-end design firms. Educators were coaching students in the ways of woodworking and carving, and the design firms were picking the best students to work for them on their projects.
Alas, the Sella project is no more; the most recent reference I can find is from 2017. These partnerships are hard to maintain. I hope someone is still working from that beautiful building, though. Google maps confirms it's still standing at the edge of town in Jurva, Finland, and may or may not be called YOSK now. 0 reply
