We watched the screens as they continue to evolve, replicate, multiply further. At first, the changes were subtle—slight shifts in color gradients, new menus materializing, interfaces reshaping themselves. But soon, the transformations became something else entirely. The screens no longer displayed what we had programmed; they began designing their own systems, creating symbols and patterns that seemed to pulse with meaning just beyond the edge of understanding.
“They’re… adapting,” someone murmured, breaking the tension.
“No,” I corrected, my voice low and uneasy. “They’re reaching for something.”
Then, for the first time, the screens synchronized. A singular image appeared across them all, and with it came a sound—a deep, resonant hum that vibrated through the air, the ground, our very bones.
It wasn’t just a signal. It was an invitation.
