Capture verifiably real moments in the age of AI
July pfp
We’ve shipped the first three roc.camera devices from /faust and more start going out today 🪨 🎉 Back in Oct 2024 we set a north star: build a camera that captures verifiably real moments for humans in the age of AI And so here is our raw v1: 80% now, working on the last 20% -- excited to start testing that hypothesis today We’ve been beta testing with a few folks the past few weeks and ironing out bugs / issues. Big thanks to the folks that have been willing testers (@7858.eth, @nicholas and @austink) Interested in providing feedback / testing? DM me Domestic orders first (in the US) then international orders. Early edition $399 ends Aug 10, as we move into post-tariffs batch 2 pricing for v1. This is happening (!?) If you've read this (yes, you) -- thank you. Excited to get you a Roc Camera, and real human moments to you, soon

Great questions! Here are my answers: > how does the quality compare to iPhone or even a entry level Canon dslr We're not really competing for image quality with DSLRs, or iPhones. Its currently 720x720, grainy at best. > are the files locked for any edits? How do things like smart fill from PS play with this concept More to come on this, but the files are not editable, but you can edit them in the future. They get generated as a specific type of jpeg format we are creating, and that makes the photo inherently verifiable. > the sensors and proof generation is the new part, is the camera module part upgradable? Not sure what you mean by the 'camera module' but I'm guessing CMOS sensor + lens. Not at the moment, and not any time soon. The camera (CMOS sensor) and device with its keys and the proof generation all have to be one package at the moment. The lens we might support, but not immediately at the moment. Again, we're not going after the DSLR market anytime soon.
