A few thoughts after submission: 1. Don't try to make something ideal, better to have something submitted than ideal nothing 2. Ship fast, keep it simple. Don't add complexity to your solution, keep it as simple as possible. In the beginning of the hackathon you feel like you to have a lot of time which is an illusion. 3. Talk to sponsors you are applying to, ask questions on the beginning to avoid mistakes. They are more than happy to help 4. If you don't have an idea you still can find a team. Don't be afraid, there are a lot of great teams happy to collaborate 5. Start your submission 2 hours before!!!! 1 hour and less is a risk, you can be late for 1 minute and your time and work will be wasted. They have a lot of questions there so start earlier 6. Be ready to sleep only a few hours during the hackathon to stay competitive. Better to stay on the location for 2 days. 7. Have fun! Hackathons are great - they give you an ability to experiment with something new, get fast feedback, find friends.
