Barnes, in the final essay of this infinitely beautiful book, says:
"Grief is the price of lovers’ courage."
And he begins:
"You put two people together who have never been together before. Sometimes it’s like the first time they tried to tie a hydrogen balloon to a hot air balloon: would you rather burn first and then fall, or would you rather love hit you first and then burn you?
Sometimes it does, and something new is made and the world changes.
Then, sooner or later, for one reason or another, one of those two people is taken away.
And what’s taken away is more than the sum of all that was. Mathematically, of course, it probably isn’t possible; but emotionally, why?”
I think we have accepted the pain and sorrow and come to terms with it.
But sometimes we want to go back and continue to suffer, even more than before.
In fact, grief is like a disease, a disease that goes away for a while and leaves no trace, but may flare up again and affect the person even more severely than before.
I'm ready to listen and talk to you for hours about this book, my friend... If you've read this book, talk to me😌 15 replies

guys👋
I read an interesting article today.
I would like to share with you here:
"A poor donkey, passing by a stream, suddenly finds a suitcase full of philosophical books.
He asks himself,"Did I come to philosophy or did philosophy come to me?"
He forcefully put the suitcase on his back and said,"Now knowledge is on my shoulders."
On the way,he saw some people abandoning their work and lives and assigning tasks to others, neglecting their own responsibilities.Suddenly, the donkey said loudly, "Understanding your own responsibility is much more important than understanding the responsibility of others."
Everyone should be aware of their own work and talents.
The people were upset by the donkey's words and beat him with sticks and stones. While the donkey was running away,he said,"You are afraid of reality, because accepting responsibility is difficult and you will be nothing for the rest of your life.
As long as you live in illusions, that's what you are."
I ask you a question. now am I a donkey or you?"☺️ 12 replies
