Maslenitsa is an ancient Slavic pagan holiday. In pre-Christian times, our ancestors glorified Yarilo, the god of the Sun, and made pancakes in gratitude to him for the light and warmth. Each pancake symbolized one sunny day, so they baked as many as possible so that warmth and light would not leave people all year round. Now Maslenitsa is a holiday of welcoming spring, cheerful, carefree, with abundant food and, most importantly, pancakes. They are the central dish of the holiday, its symbol 🥞
As in ancient times, pancakes in the minds of people symbolize the Sun🌞 0 reply
