This year, I’ve focused on raising awareness about deafness, an invisible disability that presents unique challenges often overlooked by society. Despite representing a significant portion of the population, the deaf community frequently remains unrecognized. Do you know why?
The barrier lies in communication. I feel the weight of that barrier every day, struggling to find ways to connect and express myself. While I continue to face obstacles in accessing communication, I remain determined to push forward. Every fight for recognition & accessibility is worth it, even when it takes a toll on my mental well-being.
I refuse to let others dictate my path; instead, I actively seek out opportunities to engage, learn, & make informed decisions about my life. I understand that not everyone with hearing disabilities shares the same experience, but we must prioritize accessibility for all. Valuing accessibility paves the way for equal opportunities for everyone. Together, we can create a more inclusive world. Amen! 8 replies
