I wouldn't say its dead, but total weekly casts for last week were 53,297 vs 58,682 a week before. We also saw a slight decline in weekly active users Data via farcasterinsights.com

Find and add channels is something frustrated and not fun to me, as a user I dont want to do that, better just see something and follow them like X, then those following cast showing on your timeline.
