Crafting Magic in Every Panel—From The Witching Hour to Mage of Blades, there’s more than meets the eye. The BTS of creating a web comic from scratch👇 1/4Writing (1-2 months) The writing phase kicks off once a writer is onboarded. This stage involves the creation of the narrative, lore building, and world development, culminating in a comprehensive story bible. Weekly script submissions are typically part of this process, allowing for continuous feedback and refinement. 2/4 Pre-Production (1-2 months) Pre-production begins alongside the writing phase, running concurrently as soon as the story bible is completed. This phase includes concept art, character design, and outlining key plot points. It’s a time for visualizing the world and bringing ideas to life. The goal is to finish this within the same 1-2 month timeline.

3/4 Production (7-10 days) Production moves quickly, with different steps occurring in a domino effect. This phase involves sketching, line art, inking, coloring, and lettering, all happening in succession. Although no specific timeline is set for each task, the overall production process typically takes about 7-10 days. 4/4 Post-Production (5-7 days) Once production wraps, post-production focuses on finalizing and polishing the artwork and overall design. It includes the approval of designs, adding final touches, and ensuring everything meets the intended vision. This phase usually takes about 5-7 days, depending on the speed of design approvals.
