My attempt to define "strict global consensus": - A strictly ordered and objective list of transactions, - that everyone on the network agrees to exactly, - in near real time If some element of an application necessarily requires these, use blockchains; for everything else there are much better solutions

blockchains are not for storage of data they are for the storage of hashes and proofs of data strict global consensus on when things happened and in what order storage should be just simple torrent-like p2p

yeah smart contracts and DeFi is cool and all but really what I want is a payments rollup to transfer ETH and ERC-20 tokens for basically free. onchain DA, no multisig, permissionless fraud proofs, non-upgradeable contract, no token, no governance.

State machine as a chain of attestations! I'm building a attestable state machine SDK in Typescript. - make an attestation with a schema defining valid states and transitions. - make related attestations to this with another schema. All logic enforced using a generic resolver contract. What'd you use it for?

All URLs should be considered temporary, so not a fan a better alternative might be to store IPFS hashes which can be used with any IPFS resolver

Interesting fact: WHERE field = ANY(ARRAY[...]) may usually perform better than WHERE field IN (...) in PostgreSQL for a large enough list.
