Think I'm gonna do a multi-day water fast soon Has anyone done one? What was your experience like? Any tips? What's the recommended duration? I'm thinking 72 hours for now

yea a few times would not rly recommend tbh, if the goal is to cut weight. if the goal is something else then fine first 24hrs is hard af. probs best to get off social media if you consume a lot of food content. try to be so exhausted from exercise or work that you care about sleep more than food after first day it's much easier. and after 48hrs it's p easy to extend to 72. but i found no real benefits for going to 72 compared to detriment, which is mostly focus/ability to work as effectively

In my experience. Day 1 is fine. All mental. Just a bit hungry Day 2 can be physically tough. Low energy weak. By day 3 you feel like you could 3 more days

Out of curiosity, how much snacks & fruit do you consume in a week? It seems like you're on a fitness kick before the summer and trying to lean up. I would argue fasting is net negative Speaking from experience, eating more protein and skipping all sugary products was more productive than fasting

Being hangry is a risk to relationships. Best to do it like a monk.

I did a 72 hour fast. I wouldn't do it without electrolytes though.

I’ve done many. Start with 2 or 3 days. Day 2 to morning of day 3 are rough. Drink bone broth so you don’t faint. Work your way up to a full water fast. Your body will not like not having food.

I've done it multiple times but for a period of 24 hours only Make sure to drink water at least once every hour The most difficult time for me is between the 20-22 hour when I feel very tired and hungry. After that, I get a sudden burst of energy and feel like I can continue with the water fast indefinitely

Always wanted to try one. Did you prep in any way, like reducing carbs or caffeine beforehand?

That sounds like a solid challenge, 72 hours is a popular starting point for a multi-day water fast. A lot of people report mental clarity, better focus, and a deep reset feeling by day 3. But yeah, it can get tough, especially around day 2 when energy dips.
