a big appeal to Farcaster is that it brings a lot of diverse people together and makes newcomers feel like they are equal size to others. on traditional social media platforms, one's following is one's size. but hanging here is a chance to reset that — the size of a person is larger than just one's following.

about ~40% of an autofollowed account's following has been active in the last week. but the amount of noise at this level is not nearly as bad as you'd think.

an autofollowed user's following is not a function of the user's business, so the size of the user is relative to their person not following which is larger than their work. on traditional social media, the account is the business.

1. user following here is more closely tied to their personal influence. 2. size of a user's following is not necessarily related to their business/ professional activities. 3. even if a user is autofollowed by others, it almost always doesn't reflect their business reach/professional impact.
